  What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?

  as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.

  3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

  Marijuana for migraines?

  so yesterday i had such bad migraine (with all of its accompanying symptoms...) that i ended up at er for narcotics and re-hydration.

  this was after excruciating pain for 7-8 hours thinking "just a little more time and it'll easy up.

  " wrong.. anyways, they grogged me up with atavan, thorazine and one other i can't recall... and i'm still pretty unsteady on my feet today.

  I am 33 and have had migraine headches for 26 years. I have tried everything but boiled cow tits. I have found that Relpax has worked for me. You can take it at any time of the attack. I would not recommend the "sticky icky" as they call it. Too many carcinogens.

  What other religions background do you have?

  i was wondering what if any other religious background any of you had other than being a jw and if you have any comparisons.

  i was brought up as a 7th day adventist.

  once i was on my own as an adult, my former sis-in-law started studying with me and the rest was history.

  That interesting about Catholics, they seem to not have any restrictions except that they do monitor their tithing, especially if their child attends a Catholic church.

  Hello All,

  I was wondering what if any other religious background any of you had other than being a JW and if you have any comparisons. I was brought up as a 7th Day Adventist. Once I was on my own as an adult, my former sis-in-law started studying with me and the rest was history. I read somewhere that SDA's had similiar backgrounds with JDubs. I realized later that I went from one restrictive religion to another. As a SDA we had to observe the Sabbath and keep in holy which meant no t.v. on Saturdays until sundown! Do you know how many cartoons I missed as a child??? Child abuse!

  As a SDA we could not wear jewelry, eat meat, no caffiene, etc. I missed out on a lot in life. Anyone else?

  my name is pinned blouse because once i was wrongly df'd and i no longer attended the meetings, i noticed all my blouses had pin holes in them where i fastened safety pins in them to make sure i was always "modest" lol.

  mind you i do not have large boobies but i did not want to "tempt" the brothers.. .

  Thank you guys for all your words of encouragement. I made the arrangements today for my brother. He was 36, someone punched him during an argument over the weekend and he hit his head on a wall and an aneurysm burst in is head and he died instantly. So sad. I am heartbroken. We did donate his organs. OK I need to smile :-)

  What did you guys do when you were bored during the meetings?

  I had kids so I could use them to get distracted for mny reasons. I also daydreamed a lot. I mentally wrote 23 novels. (Yet to be published) LOL Let see.. I also faked an illness once. I felt bad about that one though because I had to lie later about symptoms.... I mentally disrobed various speakers....

  Thank you guys so much for the welcome (((((hugs))))) to all. My 36 year old brother was killed this weekend so you guys put a smile on my face. I feel that I will fit right in. I never knew such a board existed and it is very refreshing. I always wondered where JW's go after they wake up LOL I look forward to making posts in the future and hopefully I can figure out how to add my pic to my posts too.
